This post is a sequel to my post about the best conductive gel for microcurrent. At the time I wrote that post I had not tried the ZIIP crystal gel. But since I am now so blown away by this amazing product. And also discovered how effective glutathione in skincare really is. I feel it needs its very own blog post.
The post will be short and only talk about this gel in particular. For more general information about conductive gels for microcurrent, I recommend you see this post. And if you are all new to microcurrent I suggest you read this post that will explain all about the technology that I love so much.
With that said. This gel can be used with any microcurrent device. And even any massage device that you might have. Or just as a mask.
This is what this post will cover in detail:
- What is ZIIP crystal gel?
- Why use Glutathione in skincare?
- My personal experience of ZIIP crystal gel
- Summary

What is ZIIP crystal gel?
ZIIP Crystal gel is a conductivity gel to be used with microcurrent. It is developed by the company ZIIP Beauty, known for the ZIIP device which utilizes both microcurrent and nanocurrent in their devices.
The crystal gel is the newest in their line. And also the one that is the least expensive. Something that does not have an impact on the quality whatsoever. And this gel has definitely become my personal favorite!
The three main ingredients are:
1) Glutathione – an amino acid and powerful antioxidant with incredible anti-aging benefits (which I’ll come back to). It also gives an amazing glow that beats everything I’ve tried before.
2) Extracts from Veronica flower – which decreases free radical damage and increases collagen synthesis.
3) Cedar Bark extract – especially good at protecting from environmental stress. And also has some antibacterial properties.
ZIIP Crystal Gel is also silicone-free, oil-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, fragrance-free, organic, and is 100% vegan.

The full ingredient list is: Organic Glycerin, Water, Propanediol, Veronica Officinalis Extract, Picea Mariana Bark Extract, Glutathione, Magnesium Aspartate, Zinc Gluconate, Copper Gluconate, Xanthan Gum, Caprylhydroxamic Acid,1,2-Hexanediol
And, you’ll have great anti-aging benefits from the added magnesium, zinc, and copper too.

Why use Glutathione in skincare?
So, what exactly is glutathione? And why is it such a beneficial ingredient in skincare?
Glutathione is an antioxidant. But not just anyone. It is actually the most crucial and powerful one that you can have, and for that reason, your body produces it by itself.
Besides being the most powerful protector from free radicals, glutathione is also involved in DNA synthesis and the immune system. As well as regeneration of other antioxidants.
You have naturally high levels of glutathione as a kid and young adult. But with age, as well as poor nutrition, pollution, toxins, and stress, the natural production declines.
Tip: Certain foods will help increase your own production of glutathione. See my post about the skin tightening carotenoids to learn more.
In skincare, glutathione has been shown to improve wrinkle depth, increase moisture, and decrease pigmentation issues. And without any side effects.
A simple explanation is that glutathione in skincare simply makes the cells perform better and rejuvenate themselves more effectively.
Besides using glutathione in skincare, some studies have shown that taking it orally can also help with pigmentation issues and anti-aging.
For me personally, my first experience of using glutathione in skincare was with the use of ZIIP crystal gel. Which is what my next section is about.
My personal experience of ZIIP crystal gel
My first impression of the crystal gel was the glide. This was without a doubt the best glide I had experienced. And no need to reapply at all even when I did several programs in a row. I hardly even needed to spritz on mineral water. The glide was just superb.
My second impression was that the conductivity was even better than with the golden gel. And I could actually use this even with my myolift device.
Thirdly, I felt no need to wash it off. I like to keep this gel on my face and most of the time now I do. I pat dry with a piece of paper and then I am ready to apply my sunscreen.
Now, I have always got good results with my ZIIP, but this gel takes it to another level for sure. I get a glow that is insane! And a skin tightness that rocks everything I have tried! I am now addicted for sure.
This gel has made my love for the ZIIP even stronger.
It cost 80 dollars and comes in a large bottle with 80 ml (2,7 fl oz). And for me, that lasts a very long time. Especially since it has so great conductivity and gives such a good glide, that I do not need to reapply. And with my code ziipwithann you’ll get 15 percent off.
Summary
- The ZIIP Crystal gel works not just for the microcurrent- and nanocurrent device from ZIIP. But also with any microcurrent device as well as any massage device you may have and be using already.
- I personally feel that this gel gives me even better results with my microcurrent devices. My skin feels even tighter and more radiant after a treatment.
- I also love that there is no need to reapply since the gel gives such great glide and conductivity.
- One of the main ingredients is glutathione, which is a powerful antioxidant that helps your skin cells perform better. It is also an amazing ingredient for getting an incredible glow!
You can order the crystal gel directly from ZIIP Beauty. Use the code ziipwithann for a discount of 15 percent. And if you haven’t tried the ZIIP device already, the same code will give you the same discount on the devices too.
If you live outside of the US, the same code will also give you a discount of 15 percent at Currentbody. The code works on both gels and devices.
Hope you find this review helpful! If you have any questions, or if you have tried ZIIP Crystal gel already, please let me know in the comments below. Would love to hear back from you!
Until next time, love your skin!
Hi Ann!
I finally am using the ZIIP because you recommended it. I was using NuFace from your recommendation a year ago and decided to recently try the ZIIP. So far I love the new device and I see differences from using Nuface for a year but I feel the ZIIP may give me better results based on a few weeks use already! I love their crystal gel more than the nu face gel. It feels so nice and moist while doing the treatment. Thank you for all your tips on your blog from lifestyle to exercising, skin products, and eating the right foods with the right vitamins! It has been so helpful with my skin care journey since 2020!
I know you don’t recommend Botox, fillers etc. which is why I stay away from them, but I am always curious and wanted your opinion about non-surgical procedures like Ultherapy, laser, and exilis. What do you think about them?
I want to consider getting these treatments for lifting, tightening, evening skin tone, and getting rid of mild sunspots (consistent use of retinol and vitamin c definitely helped to make it lighter), and there’s so much info out there that I don’t know what source to trust. If you ever have time, would you ever consider writing blog posts about those procedures? I’ve searched online but I trust you so much and I very much value your expertise and opinion!!!
I love your blog! Your skin always looks so beautiful! Keep helping your readers. They need you!! 🙂
Hi Bonnie and thank you so much for your feedback! And I’m happy to hear you like the Ziip 🙂 It is such a miracle tool!
About ultrasound and radiofrequency treatments, I do not personally recommend them. I have heard too many scary stories about fat loss in the face after these treatments. Even with skilled and reputable practitioners. Some people have good results, but not everyone. It is not a risk I would take.
Laser is something that can work for some concerns. But I would still be careful especially if you have sensitive skin.
I might write about these treatments, but for now I mention them every now and then :). Also, I will write more articles as soon as I get a little more time. I have a 4.5 month old baby so I have been quite busy :).
I just tried to purchase the Ziip Crystal Gel, and it is currently sold out through Ziip Beauty which must mean it’s a great product! I have rosacea – is it gentle enough for that sensitive of skin? Also, fascinated by your comments regarding taking glutathione orally. Have you personally tried it, and if so, did you notice results? Thank you for all of the great info!!
Thank you Kelly! Yes it is perfect for sensitive skin. At least for my super sensitive skin and all that I have heard of. There are so few ingredients too :). About taking glutathione orally, no I have not tried it :).
I bought a Ziip back in June (with your discount code!) after reading your review. Thank you! I’m loving the device & still have plenty of Golden Gel left thanks to your excellent tip on using mineral water spray to revitalize the gel. I have similar skin concerns as you and am so happy I came across your blog. I’m going to try out the Crystal Gel now, too, and take advantage of the current sale (25% off). Thanks, again! 🙂
So glad to hear that Nina! 😀 And you’re very welcome!
Very interesting and informative. Thank you!

This sounds like a great product to use. I could certainly use it for my wrinkles.
Thank you for your comment Gina 🙂
ZIIP crystal gel looks like an interesting product. I don’t have a micro current device, but just thinking about the gel feels soothing. Thanks for sharing!
You’re very welcome Lisa 🙂

This product sounds amazing. I have not used a gel before on my skin. I’ve only used face washes for anti aging.
